Vegetarian Bliss: Jain Dal Fry and Jeera Rice Symphony

 Jain Dal Fry and Jeera Rice |Homemade |Healthy Recipe


Jain Dal Fry:

Ingredients:

3/4 cup split yellow dal (Toor dal)
1/4 cup moong dal
1/4 cup masoor dal
1 medium-sized tomato, chopped
1/2 cup chopped capsicum
1/2 cup chopped carrots(optional)
1/2 cup chopped beans
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp sooth powder
1 tsp kashmiri red chili powder
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1 tsp mustard seeds
A pinch of asafoetida (hing)
1/4 tsp amchur powder or Lamon juice
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves for garnish
4 tbsp ghee or oil

Instructions:

Rinse all dals thoroughly and cook it in a pressure cooker with turmeric powder, water and salt until it's soft and mushy.

In a separate pan, heat 2tbsp ghee or oil. Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and let them splutter. a
dd sooth powder.

Add chopped
capsicum and cook until they become translucent.

Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become mushy.

Add chopped vegetables & beans and sauté for a few minutes.

Add kashmiri red chili powder ,amchur powder (Lamon juice) and mix well.

Pour the cooked dal into the pan and mix everything together.

Adjust salt as per your taste and let it simmer for 5-10 minutes.

After dal fry cooked perfectly then prepare second tadka of dal:

Take 2tbsp ghee or oil in small pan
Add 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
Add 1/4 tsp hing
Add 1 dry red chilli saute for a minute
Add 1/2 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
Immediately pour it on dal fry and gently mix it.

Garnish with coriander leaves.

Jeera Rice:

Ingredients:

1 cup basmati rice
2 cups water
1 tbsp ghee or oil
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
Salt to taste

Instructions:

Rinse the basmati rice until the water runs clear.
Soak the rice in water for 30 minutes.
In a pot, heat ghee or oil.
Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pot.
Sauté for 2-3 minutes.
Add water and salt.
Bring it to a boil.
Once it boils, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.

Special Notes:

Soak the dals for 30 minutes before using.
Measure the dal and water from same bowl.
You can prepare the first tadka in advance and pour the second tadka before serving.
