 Serenade of Flavors: Jain Veg Melody Manchurian| Jain Food| Vegan Food


Ingredients for Jain Manchurian :

For the Manchurian Balls:

  • 1 cup grated cabbage
  • 1/2 cup grated carrots (optional)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped capsicum
  • 1 tbsp green chilli paste
  • 1 tbsp cornflour
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour (maida)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  • Oil for deep frying

For the Gravy:

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped cabbage
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped capsicum
  • 1tbsp green chilli paste
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp black paper
  • 1 tbsp sooth powder
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped celery (optional)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 tbsp red chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornflour mixed with 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves

Instructions:

In a large mixing bowl, combine grated cabbage, carrots(optional),chopped capsicum, green chilli paste , cornflour, all-purpose flour, salt, and black pepper powder(according to your taste bud). Mix well to form a dough. Divide the mixture into small portions and shape them into round balls.

Heat oil in a deep pan for frying. Once the oil is hot, deep fry the Manchurian balls until they turn golden brown. Remove and drain excess oil on a paper towel.

In a separate pan, heat 1 tbsp oil. Add green chilli paste and chopped cabbage Sauté for a minute until they become aromatic.

Add capsicum, and celery. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender.

Add soy sauce, tomato ketchup, red chili sauce, and sugar. Mix well.

Pour in the cornflour-water mixture while stirring continuously to avoid lumps.

Add salt to taste and continue to stir until the gravy thickens.

Add 2 cups of water gradually, stirring continuously. Bring the gravy to a boil.

Once the gravy thickens to your desired consistency, add the fried Manchurian balls. Mix gently to coat the balls with the gravy.


Garnish with finely chopped Coriander leaves and celery leaves serve hot with steamed rice or noodles. Enjoy your delicious Jain Manchurian!
