Garam masala is a blend of spices that varies from region-to-region and person-to-person. Generally speaking, garam masala includes: cumin, coriander, cardamom, cinnamon, black pepper, nutmeg, and cloves. It sometimes also includes bay leaves, mace, fennel, and chilies.
Ingredients:-
- 1 Tbsp cumin
- 1 Tbsp ground coriander
- 2 tsp cardamom
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp ground cloves
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
Instructions
Combine all spices. Taste and adjust to suit your preference. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
Tips & Tricks
For more aromatic garam masala, add all spices to sauté pan and heat for just a few minutes, until fragrant.
